Fireman Graham, fireman Bell and Fireman Johnstone also drowned. All buried in a single grave in the town cemetery. Retained station at Silloth had responsibility for water rescue on the local marshes. Had open aluminium boat with outboard motor.Searching in bad weather after an incorrect report of a missing boy who had gone out in a boat to shoot duck.
