Fell through canvas escape chute during drills attached to water tower. Canvas tear reported to be caused by a nail in his boot. Although holding the rank title of Superintendent, he was in fact the Deputy. A 'Captain' was the Chief Fire Officer. Also Captain of the Critall Works fire brigade.
