1058637. Possibly the 2nd April. Leading a team to extinguish armed burning aircraft set on fire by enemy attack. Killed byexploding air vessel whilst protecting stored torpedoes. George Cross awarded for firefighting and rescue operations during sustained air raids targetting the airfield.
